Because I wanted a home away from home, somewhere I can go back to no matter where I am. A catalog of my own experiences, an internet bedroom, an internet city, a living breathing record of all that I love in one place, decorated in the way that I can't decorate a physical space. Because I'm nostalgic. Because I miss old internet and because I hate billionaires and their shitty platforms. Also I thought it would make me pretty cool.
I'm learning coding from scratch and I have no idea what I'm doing but more than anything I wanted a project to do for no reason, just for the sake of doing it, something I could pour my heart and soul into with no visible or immediate payoff. Turns out that's the only kind of thing that's worth living for.
